If we take the example of football, NFL moneyline point spread odds are often set at 1.91, but of course, the pricing can vary from one provider to another. This gives the house the edge. By setting a money line spread, it ensures the provider sees a small amount of money come back to them over time. What is a moneyline bet? Money line bets can seem a little confusing at first, especially for the bettor who has traditionally wagered their money on the point spread. The money line is actually the most straightforward bet you can have on any sport. Whilst the spread bet is on a team to win and by how many, the money line is a bet on simply a team to win.
It’s Super Bowl Sunday (woohoo!), and it’s time for one more look at the spread, the over/under and moneylines for Super Bowl 55 between the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Once again, there was a little bit of movement on this game since we posted the opening odds back on January 25, and since we updated them on Feb. 4 earlier this week.
Now, we’re hours away from kickoff, so it’s time for one last update, around noon Eastern, before we see Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes face off at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay.
(All bets courtesy of BetMGM) Spread: Chiefs -3
Well! This did move. It started at Chiefs -3, moved mid-week to Chiefs -3.5 and went back. What does that mean? Probably that there were a lot of bets on the Bucs +3.5. We know of two HUGE bets on that line. Over/Under: 55.5
This has moved down — it was 56.5 mid-week, and I’m kind of surprised it’s been lowered. I guess there was a lot of money on the under? I thought it would go over at that number! Moneylines: Chiefs -165, Buccaneers +140
This hasn’t moved since our last update.Difference Between Moneyline And SpreadBet Moneyline And Spread
